We are a Family Assessment Centre in the South of England
Providing safe, comprehensive and fair, evidence-based residential assessments and support programmes for families in Southampton and the surrounding areas.
We provide tailored support to help parents build the skills and confidence needed to meet their children's evolving needs, ensure their safety, and create a loving environment where they can grow and thrive.
Our focus is simple: to safeguard children and promote positive change for parents and the opportunity to fulfil their parenting potential- creating new horizons and brighter futures for families we support.
For Parents
At Nucleus Horizons, we understand and recognise that every family’s journey is unique. Our warm and welcoming centre in Southampton offers a safe and nurturing space for children, where parents can learn and develop and receive the support they need while staying together with their children.
You’ll have access to and be observed by experienced and dedicated support staff who are here to guide you through every step of the assessment process and provide you with the assistance and guidance to address concerns in relation to safeguarding/parenting capacity.
We focus on helping you build confidence, develop new skills, and make positive changes that last. We want to give you the best opportunity to care for your child/children.
For Professionals
We work collaboratively with local authorities, courts, and social care professionals to deliver comprehensive, evidence-based family assessments in a nurturing residential setting and to support families to transition to our centre and out into the community.
Our experienced team provides clear, timely, and robust reports that focus on each child’s safety and well-being, while ensuring parents are supported throughout their time with us. We provide 24/7 support and observation for families and tailor our support to address concerns raised within assessments.
We welcome referrals for a wide range of family circumstances and pride ourselves on our responsive, transparent approach to collaboration.

Whether families stay with us at our centre, receive assessments in the community, or through a tailored blend of both, our approach remains consistent - child-focused, strengths-based, and compassionate.

We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of care, assessment, and safeguarding at Nucleus Horizons. Our residential Family Assessment Centre is in the process of registration with Ofsted, and our inspection report will be published here once available.
